Every December lunch hour I would bound home from elementary school, leaping snowbanks, sending an avalanche of snow onto immaculately shoveled drives. It wasn’t the thought of my mother’s convenient food slapped haphazardly on a plastic plate that got my legs pumping, sweating under a layer cake of snowsuit.
It was these movies. For this holiday month only CFCF Montreal played the same series of animated tales at noon. One in particular was etched forever in my mind. I remember weeping openly over the Prince’s eyes, the sparrow, my hot tears dripping onto my coagulated Kraft dinner. For the longest time I couldn’t recall the title. By youtube fluke, I found it.
